NaNoWriMo

So I haven’t been updating lately, which is a shame because I have had some fanwork in the process of being created. However, between a lot of work and school, I found myself deciding I wanted to focus in more on some original work. Without further ado, I wanted to announce that I’m finally working on my roadtrip novella about two monks attempting to find the Font of Eternal Life and indulge in some less-than-savory practices thereafter. It’s a little Road to El Dorado, a little Fear and Loathing, a little Silence of the Lambs. I’m looking forward to finishing the first draft in the next 30 days!

Find me on the official NaNoWriMo site!

Role Play Rally!

So, cha boi JD is going to be playing and DMing at the Role Play Rally in Austin TX this weekend! Super excited for it; looking forward to getting ideas and expanding on my favorite protagonist, Cai.

D&D as a writer is weird…Cai was my very first D&D character, and now on this Adventurers League reboot, it really feels like an AU for em. Ey have a canon that is nowhere NEAR as fantastical as the D&D universe; canon Cai would just dream of having 5E Cai’s powers.

Anyhoo, see y’all around! Expect content including dungeons and/or dragons soon.

The The Adventure Zone Lady Zone

No, that’s not a typing mistake up there…#TAZLadyWeek is an event going on online this week for the series that is currently ruling my waking hours. The Adventure Zone is an excellent Dungeons and Dragons podcast with fantastic female characters (who are all honestly more competent than the actual PCs). My own little contribution is just a little collection of 500-1000 word ficlets I’m putting together when I can get a few minutes every day this week.

Check out the first entry in The Women of Balance on my AO3 right now!

The full prompt lineup:

Monday 2/13: Favorite female character / The Oculus
Tuesday 2/14: Favorite romantic relationship between women / The Gaia Sash
Wednesday 2/15: Favorite platonic relationship between women / The Philosopher’s Stone
Thursday 2/16: Canon divergence – what would you do differently? / The Temporal Chalice
Friday 2/17: Angst / The Animus Bell
Saturday 2/18: Fluff / The Phoenix Fire Gauntlet
Sunday 2/19: Finale/Free Space / The Final Relic

Audio, Oh My!

Writing has been something I have been distinctly…not doing lately. Whoops. I promise I’m going to step up my game. However, I DO have a project that IS for sure starting on Monday:

The Lesbian Feminist Audio Project

A group of women I know online are getting together to make accessible audio books on various lesfem topics! The subjects vary greatly, but there’s going to be a wealth of things available. I’ll link my recordings as they’re released, as well as the main site for the archive when it’s up.

I’m going to be working on For Lesbians Only: A Separatist Anthology, edited by Sarah Lucia-Hoagland and Julia Penelope. It’s gonna be 548 pages of various essays on the concept of Lesbian Separatism. I may not agree with all the topics by all the authors, but I am so excited to be a part of this project and share this snapshot of 1988 lesbian history with the internet!

Quick Update

So, just to check in with you beautiful people! I am indeed actually writing again. Amazing!

  • I’m currently working on a sci-fi short story that might wind up developing into an ongoing series with a lovely little human/AI lesbian couple, but we’ll see where it goes after I pitch the story around.
  • I have a non-fiction pitch I’m developing about mixed orientation relationships that I’m therapy-writing, and will hopefully be able to sell somewhere y’all can read for free.
  • I’m also working a bit on plotting out where I’m going with Spiders, since has been on hiatus far too long.
  • Finally, I am finalizing my list of stories for Needle Teeth, which I’m going to start working on immediately after I finish my all-ages short!

I am also up to writing commissions right now, and I’m likely going to put up a couple of sales to drum up business after I finish my current Number 1 Priority.

Also!

In addition to my writing, I recently reopened my Etsy shop! It has a listing for my writing commissions which I’d appreciate people using if they’re willing to leave me a review. However, it’s mostly going to be used at the moment for my witchcraft-related ventures, and I currently have listings for a 3-card general spread, a 12-card relationship spread, and I currently have up a special deal for first-time readings! Eventually I’ll have up various homemade witchcraft supplies, other reading types, spells…and of course, when I have some books out, I’ll be selling autographed copies!

Hello readers!

For those who don’t know, I’ve had a busy summer of travel, emotional strain, and debilitating issues with both my physical and mental health. As a result, I’ve let down myself and my fans quite a bit with my goals for the summer.

However, I have some exciting news! Outside of the writing world, I just got accepted into trade school for a profession I’m very positive about and looking forward to. Now, school doesn’t start until January, so in the meantime I’m looking for part time work, and I’m going to write more, too.

This is, of course, a bit of an issue when I’m still experiencing chronic pain and foggy thoughts on a regular basis. Despite this, I’m going to struggle through in order to be a successful person. I believe in the ability to get through! Keep an eye out for my future publications.

Delays

I know, I know…I haven’t been writing in a while! I have no excuse for delays! But in all fairness, I’ve been pretty ill for the past week, have had a lot of bad hands dealt me in my personal life, and I’ve been out of town lately, so there’s been a few issues.

Despite this, Spiders in the Basement is still set for relaunch on June 30th. I actually got a good deal of interest in the series from several established authors this weekend, so I’m extra excited to start bringing it out for all of you!

My erotica collections, however, are being delayed; Needle Teeth and Sacrilege may be starting in early August, and Their Reptilian Majesty is being put on the back burner for personal reasons. This will give me more time to make sure that the series look good for all of y’all! It also gives me some time to see about entering a few anthology submission calls I’ve seen lately, haha.

Also: I’m thinking of moving my domain name from Tumblr to my new WordPress site, so keep in mind that that move may happen soon! I’ll still keep the tumblr around for a while after the move, likely.

I’m excited to go on this writing journey with all of y’all, and I hope to see you round!
